We decided to take Amtrack to go visit my sister for Thanksgiving.
Lesson 1. Getting up at 3 in the morning to catch a train takes work. Amtrack isn’t always on time. In November, the nights get very cold, but there are a lot of people traveling. Who were patiently waiting and willing to talk with those around them.
Lesson 2. Taking the inexpensive route, you can watch the interactions of families, friends, and strangers. Just by sitting back and listening. You can learn a lot from their interactions.
Lesson 3. I’m getting too old to sleep in a moving chair, even if it reclines.
Lesson 4. Once you reach your destinations, it’s good to have someone there to greet you.
Lesson 5. Serving others is good. Especially when they are willing to accept the service. And I must learn to do things how they want it done, this take listening.
Lesson 6. Going home isn’t as easy as I make it appear.
Finally, it was great receiving greetings from friends who are young and not so young across the country. I really appreciated each one.
May our Lord, our Savior, and our Redeemer bless each of you for your kind words. Let spread his love throughout the Christmas season and beyond.
