We celebrate Thanksgiving once a year. Shouldn’t we be giving thanks year-round? We should remember the captivity of our fathers and the works of our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer Jesus Christ, in bringing us out of the bondage of sin.
Thank our Heavenly Father for the hope and confidence He has instilled in us through Jesus Christ. Thank our Savior for His willingness to atone for our sins and the promise of forgiveness when we repent.
Thank Him for the blessings bestowed upon us as we seek our Lord in prayer. Thank Him for our families, no matter our circumstances. Thank Him for our struggles that turn our hearts towards our friend Jesus.
Come and praise our Lord, our Savior, and our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Let us lift our voices in praise for His atonement and grace. Let all our praises express gratitude for His love. Blessed are we when we walk with Him, with our hearts set on this pilgrimage with Him. Blessed are we when we run to Him, avoiding the world’s evils.
Thank our Lord for the smallest blessings, those we may not see in the moment but recognize upon reflection of the day. Let us be glad for the Lord’s recognition of our needs and righteous desires.
Praise Him continually, in our thoughts, and with our voice. Give thanks for His commandments, that we may know His will — to love God with all our mind, might, and strength, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
