Loving Others

Earlier this month, most of us participated in our Democrated process. It appears that those who voted selected their choice. And now there’s a changing of the guard. People are either celebrating or mourning. I’ve been out and about, and it seems more people are energized, but still, others are disheartened.

I‘ve heard some people want to cut off communication with family as a result of the results of this election because their choice did not prevail. This has me wondering what the consequences of cutting their family off are? I’ve learned through sad experiences of my own and that of others. Being cut off from members of your family only begins sadness, worry, and broken hearts.

We’ve been told to love one another. To do good to those who mistreat us. To fogive those who persecute us. Family is the cornerstone to society. It  teaches us and future generations who we are and where we came from, what values we hold.

Let us over this Thanksgiving season, show love and respect to our famlies, no matter their political ideology, or who they voted for. Instead, let’s gather and give thanks for the love that overcomes the worldly influences, which is the love of our Savior, Redeemer, our Lord Jesus Christ.
