According to the stores, it’s already the Christmas season. Let’s not worry much about Halloween or Thanksgiving and jump straight into Christmas!
I personally wouldn’t mind celebrating Christmas year round. The giving of ourselves to those in need, those who are lonely, those who are mourning some kind of loss, those who are weary, or burdened with grief or the struggles of life.
I love Thanksgiving, a time of gratitude, a time of sharing of our bounty with family and friends. And a time for service. It’s a time to remember the goodness of God to those who, through the kindness of the Tisquantum, also known as Squanto, who were members of the Patuxet tribe of Wampanoags in what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts.
I have a belief that if we live as if every day was a combination of gratitude and selfless service, we would have Thanksgiving and Christmas year round. Through being grateful for the blessings that God bestowed upon us and sharing our blessings with others daily, we would make the world better for those we know and those we have yet to meet.
Remember that our Lord. Our Savior, and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, gave us the ability to follow his example by showing us the way to love our neighbors through showing gratefulness and love for all.
Let us attempt to have Thanksgiving and Christmas every day of the year by loving all we meet.
