When something happens and the news of it is brought to our attention, we rarely, if ever, get the whole story. In fact, the information comes to us as second, or third handed. If the information fits our opinion, we usually accept it as believable and question it no further.
However, when we are made aware of something that is in opposition to our opinion, do we question it. Do we seek the facts to know for ourselves whether or not it is true.
Rumors and innuendos can be found everywhere we look. So, when we hear them, what do we do? What should we do?
What we usually do is we jump to a conclusion and almost immediately respond emotionally. Either we become upset and angry because it is opposed to our belief.
Otherwise, we become happy because it’s what we want to hear. But we don’t seek further information as to its truthfulness or incorrectness.
What we should do is seek the source of the information to understand of its truthfulness or incorrectness, then go to the source of all truth, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and ask if the information is correct or not.
When we do this with faith and real intent. We will receive an answer through the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost, we can know the truth of all things.
