How do I hear my Lord, my Savior, and my Redeemer? Sometimes, I am awakened from my sleep. When I fall back to sleep, I have the same dream over again. Other times, go somewhere that I’ve never been before and feel as though I know the place, like I’ve been there before.
Sometimes, as I listen to a sermon or talks in church, I’ll notice a glow around the speaker or speakers. Other times, when I hear something, I get a warm, comforting feeling.
How do I hear the lord, sometimes during my prayers, I hear distinct words. Other times, I have to wait and pray again and again for the desire of my heart. Sometime for years to see the answers to these prayers.
I hear him when I am keeping my covenants made with him, keeping his commandments, repenting of my faults, and loving those around me. When his voice is harder to hear, it usually means that I’m proud, self-centered, or critical, complaining, and condemning others.
As I read or listen to the scriptures with the purpose of learning, instead of just reading to read or listening just to have something in the background, I feel his comfort. As I read or listen to our modern-day Prophets. I hear of ways I can get closer to Jesus Christ and feel his spirit.
I would love to live, so I am hearing him rather than not being guided by his spirit. Wouldn’t you love to live so you hear him and have his spirit to guide you? Take some time, and ponder what you would do to improve how you hear him.
