After Jesus Christ formed his church in the America’s. His deciples preached his gospel, to as many as did come unto them, and did truly repent of their sins, were baptized in the name of Jesus; and they did also receive the Holy Ghost. Eventually, the people were all converted unto their Lord, their Savior and their Redeemer. As a result of this conversion, there were no contentions and disputations among them, and every man did deal justly one with another.
They all had all things common amongst them in that there were no rich and poor, no bond and free; but they were all made free and partakers of the heavenly gift.
And there were great and marvelous works wrought by the disciples of Jesus, insomuch that they did heal the sick, and raise the dead, and cause the lame to walk, and the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear; and all manner of miracles did they work among the children of men; and in nothing did they work miracles save it were in the name of Jesus.
And the Lord did prosper them exceedingly in the land;
They were married and given in marriage and were blessed according to the multitude of the promises, which the Lord had made unto them.
They did walk after the commandments which they had received from their Lord and their God, continuing in fasting and prayer, and in meeting together oft both to pray and to hear the word of the Lord.
And there was no contention among all the people, in all the land; as there were mighty miracles wrought among the disciples of Jesus, and there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of evil; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of all the people.
After two hundred years of peace and prosperity, pride began to rise among the people, and from that time forward, the people ceased to have all things in common. They divided themselves into classes, began to build up churches unto themselves to get gain, and began to deny the true church of Christ. By the next decade, there were many churches in the land, which proclaimed to know the Christ, though they denied many parts of his gospel.
These churches multipled exceedingly because of iniquity and the power of Satan who did get hold on their hearts. And in the course of another 400 years, this once great nation fell from an era of peace and love to the complete destruction of their former glory and civilization.
The message they left us is simple as long as we love God, keep his commandments, live the ture gospel of Jesus Christ, he will bless us and prosper us as we do his will. However, when we seek our own will, he will not bless us. He allows us to stuffer the consequences of our poor choices.
Let us follow the path of the gospel of Jesus Christ. By serving him bky loving and caring for all those we come in contact with.
