Loving All

The hardest thing in this world is to love everyone. On the other hand, it is very easy to criticize, complain about, or even condemn everyone who doesn’t share the same point of view as you or I do or those we haven’t gotten to know.

It is easy to find fault or to celebrate when those we disagree fail in our point of view. We can complain, condem, and criticize, which builds walls between us and those we should be building relationships with.

When Jesus Christ asked the question, “Which is the greatest of all the commandments?” His answer seemed to have put those trying to trip him up, into a state of silence.

So, how do we love all? As I was listening to this discussion on the greatest commandment and second, which is like unto it. I learned the following:

His response was simple: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with  all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

The second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments, hang all the law and the prophets.”

How do we love God? Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”  Also, John worte; “By this, we know that we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments.”

To love all, first we need to love God, the father of our spirits. Then, we will truly be able to love all (our spiritual brothers & sisters).

Since, the best way to love all is to love God by keeping his commandments and by getting to know those around us. What is preventing each of us from keeping God’s commandments and getting to know those around us?
