Even so, faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. James 2:17 part 5 of 7

God spoke to Abraham and said unto him: “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom, you lovest, and get yourselves into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

Abraham rose up early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two young men with him, and Isaac, his son, and clung fast to the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the land of Moriah.

On the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. Abraham spoke to the young men, saying, “Abide here with the donkey; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.”

Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac, and he took the fire in his hand and a knife; and they went together.

Isaac spoke to Abraham, saying ,”My father.” Abraham replied, “Here am I, my son.” Isaac continues saying, “Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Abraham answered him, “God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering…”

When they arrived at the place that God had told Abraham of. Abraham built an altar and laid the wood in order, then he bound Isaac and placed him on the altar. Abraham then stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

As Abraham did so, an Angel of the Lord called unto him and said, “Abraham, Abraham: and Abraham said,”Here am I.” And the Angel continued, “Lay not your hand on the lad, neither do anything to him: for now, I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.”

Will we always remember to communicate with our Heavenly Father to strengthen our faith?

Do we have the faith necessary to trust our family welfare and safety into God’s hands?

Abraham lifted his eyes, and saw a ram caught in a thicket by his horns, behind him; then Abraham went and took the ram, and offered the ram up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

When the time comes that we need to let go of things we can not control, will our faith in God be strong enough to feel at peace?
