Even so, faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone. James 2:17 part 4 of 7

The word of the Lord came to Elijah, saying arise and go to Zarephath. I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain you.

So Elijah went to Zarephath, and when he arrived at the gate, a widow was gathering sticks.
Elijah called to the woman, saying fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, so I can drink.

As she went to fetch it, he called to her; bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
She responded to the request, as the Lord lives, I have not a cake, but a handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for yourself and for your son.

For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil  fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, he spoke by Elijah.

Faith of Elijah was to follow the word of the Lord by going to Zarephath and then speaking to the widow.

Is your faith strong enough to follow the Prophet in hastening the gathering of Israel?

The widow faith was shown as she followed Elijah’s instructions after she expressed her concerns and received assurances that she and her son would be taken care of.

Is your faith strong enough that when we are prompted to go and do, that you go and do?

Is your faith strong enough that when you are asked to give of your last meal, your last penny, or of your time, that you can serve those in need?
