Matthew describes a time when Jesus was in Capernaum when a centurion came unto him saying that his servant was at his home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. Jesus said he would go to his house and heal his servant.
The centurion refused the offer, saying he was not worthy for Jesus to come under his roof, then asked Jesus to just speak the word only, and his servant would be healed.
Jesus said to those who followed him, “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no not in Isreal. Jesus then said to the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
The centurion believed that Jesus could heal his servant by just speaking the word. So, he came to seek Jesus’s assistance. Do we have the faith to believe and expect miracles when we ask Jesus our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer for assistance?
Do we have the faith to allow the miracles to come in the Lord’s time?
Or are we impatient when what we asked for doesn’t happen on our schedule?
Our time is never the Lord’s time. For he knows the beginning from the end. The blessings and miracles we seek will always come to pass as we seek his will.
